Why I started Mini Mavericks

Mini Mavericks was recently launched, and while we welcome children into our learning space in April 2026, the vision behind it has been shaping itself for years.
It began with a quiet discomfort.
As I observed early learning environments around me, I noticed how often young children were being rushed through milestones, labelled too early, or measured against rigid standards—sometimes before they were truly understood. Childhood felt hurried, and emotional well-being often took a back seat to outcomes.
I knew there had to be another way.
I wanted to create an early learning space where happiness is foundational, inclusion is meaningful, and children are allowed to grow at their own pace.
That belief led to the birth of Mini Mavericks.
Mini Mavericks is a happiness-driven, inclusive early learning centre designed around emotional safety, purposeful play, and respect for individuality. We believe that children learn best when they feel secure, valued, and free to be themselves.
In our classrooms, children are not expected to fit into pre-designed systems. Instead, our systems are intentionally designed to adapt to children—honouring their unique developmental journeys, strengths, and needs.
April marks the beginning of our everyday learning experiences with children. Today marks the sharing of our purpose with families and the wider community.
I am deeply grateful for the trust, encouragement, and belief that supported this vision from its earliest days. Mini Mavericks is more than a centre—it is a step towards reimagining early childhood education with empathy, intention, and joy.
This is just the beginning.
